Medical Visits
What's Involved?
When your pet is unwell the doctors at Court Street Vet work closely with you and to determine the cause of illness. When they become ill our pets often display non-specific clinical signs such as weight loss, change in thirst or appetite, lethargy, or vomiting and diarrhea. It’s our doctors’ job to determine a plan for investigations, so we can help your pet feel better.
The detailed history you provide of your pet’s illness, coupled with their physical exam findings will help us to determine where they are experiencing illness; we evaluate different body systems such as the GI tract (stomach & intestines), the internal organs (liver, pancreas, kidneys), the respiratory system (airway & lungs), cardiovascular system (heart conditions), among many others.
We’ll work closely with you to explain why we often recommend diagnostic testing such as bloodwork, urinalysis, or ultrasound and radiographs. many of these tests can be performed in-house while you and your pet wait for answers! Our in-house laboratory allows us to provide rapid diagnosis of many different conditions. We can then decide on a treatment plan, or if needed discuss specialist referral.
